Galt Jungle Clock
In the late 1990s my mother bought me a clock from a craft and Toy shop.
I have had this clock for so many years and never finished it. For a long time it sat in a cupboard gathering dust. The receipt started an interesting conversation with my crafty mother about crafting, independent craft shops and creative hobby shops, and how different this is now with the change in the economics, high streets and crafting.
I opened it recently to find that it had been started by my mother.
It also included paints and a colour chart to help you paint it.
And some naturally aged instructions.
So I decided I should finish it. I though about how long it had been waiting the things that had happened in my life as the clock waited to be finished, this made me think of how much had changed and what had stayed the same. This inspired a redesign of the clock, working around the already completed sections.
And here it is the final completed clock.
This is more of a visual journey of though and a 30 year art project.
